Constitutionality Of UIGEA Contested

courtThe constitutionality of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA) of 2006 has been challenged by the Interactive Media Entertainment and Gaming Association (iMEGA). The case could be heard as early as April.

 

The iMEGA’s legal advisors have been contacted by the US courts, asking for their availability in April to provide oral arguments in the case.

This had been expected since the organization missed their December bond payment of $53.1 million. Donald Trump and daughter Ivanka handed in their resignations from the Board several days before the filing of Chapter 11.

 

London’s CAP Euro “Biggest Ever”

London’s CAP Euro The CasinoAffiliatePrograms.com (CAP) has confirmed that the recent CAP Euro held in London was the biggest affiliate marketing event they have ever held. The event was held from January 30th to February 1st at the Novotel Hotel in London.

 

The event drew more than 1,600 people, which was almost double the previous year’s turnout. Event organizer, Alex Pratt said “CAP Euro London was our biggest and most successful event yet. Even more importantly, these numbers make this not only the biggest affiliate conference ever to be held in Europe, but also the biggest iGaming affiliate event of all time, period."

Review of UIGEA Could Be Soon

This has been held up for several years now due to the fact that the rules have been in the process of being written and amended by government departments.
