queenVeliu Takes WSOP Circuit Event in Atlantic City

 

The Ladies Event at the World Series of Poker Circuit at Atlantic City has been won by Alida Veliu. The $300+40 buy-in event attracted 178 entrants with a total prize pool of $53,400.

6. Helen Ellis - $2,640

9. Carmen Huggins - $1,056
10. Sedef Onder - $845

 

Women also made the headlines in some other events of the Atlantic City Circuit stop including Alicia Spencer who finished 4th in the $560 No Limit Hold’em for prize money of $10,920, and Joanne Monteavaro who placed 11th in the $5,150 Circuit main event for prize money of $13,874.

 

Belcore-Zogman  Takes HPT Honors

Heartland Poker Tour (HPT) has named their player of the year with Mary Jo Belcore-Zogman taking the honor. Belcore-Zogman had made three deep runs in HPT events including winning $85,724 at the "The Grand Series" in September. She also placed 6th and 14th in two of the three final HPT events for 2008 for total prize money of $104,429. For winning player of the year honors, Belcore-Zogman has also won satellite entry for all the HPT events in 2009.
